Science Lab
Science Lab is a program started by Science Gurus to develop and encourage the interest in science among today’s youth. It involves youth members (high school and undergraduate students) to take initiative in teaching and inspiring 4th-10th grade students to love science.

Today’s youth population is versatile with knowledge and background covering various fields. The program taps into the youth members’ potential to develop an interest in science among students. The youth volunteers will be rewarded with research and internship opportunities. This program supplements the school’s science curriculum with hands-on activities and field trips.
- TARGET AUDIENCE
3rd through 8th grade students
- Format
* Groups of 5-7 students gather in a volunteer’s place (host) or via Zoom (during Covid) * High School students (instructors) trained by Science Gurus travel to host place or connect remotely (during Covid)
* Instructors teach 3rd-8th grade students basic science concepts with hands-on activities
* Includes Science Fair Preparation discussion
* Includes a trip to local science museum at student’s expense (not during Covid)
* The cost is $25 per student to cover the cost of materials
