The Science Gurus Science Speech Olympiad was developed to teach students how to research scientific topics and to be able to communicate their findings in a confident and precise manner.

• Program Objective

  The Science Speech Olympiad is designed to teach students basic research and public speaking skills.

• Target Audience

  7th to 9th grade students

• Individual Competition Details:
  * 2 topics in each subject are pre-announced (Click here to view topics).
  * Actual topic for presentation in each subject will be revealed at the competition.
  * Student must speak on the assigned topic in the subject(s) they chose: Math, Physics, Chemistry and Biology.
  * The time limit for presentation is 8 min. per student per subject & 2 min. Q&A session
     - 2 min. of Introduction
     - 5 min. of subject ,matter covering the points given in the topic
     - 1 min. of summary/conclusion
  * Judges may ask technical questions or clarifications at the end of the presentation.
  * Students may use a poster board or power point presentation to aid in their presentation.
  * Individual prizes will be awarded in each subject.
